XPDF Beamline Proposal
XPDF Beamline Proposal
DLS Phase III
To share with the community of our vision for XPDF and to receive feedback on our full proposal, we are holding a workshop on the proposed beamline at Diamond House on 13 January 2011. Diamond will pay for the reasonable travel expenses of attendees up to £100. More may be available subject to budgetary constraints. Claim forms will be available at the meeting. The meeting will initially be limited to 40 people.
In addition to invited speakers there will be a discussion session with short presentations (5–10 min) from anyone who feels his/her research will benefit from the science areas that will be enabled by the new beamline. Please send Andrew your title and short abstract and estimated time duration you would ideally like to talk (no guarantee).
Diamond have asked that all those wishing to attend the workshop register in advance. A link to the registration page is given to the right.
Copies of the near-final proposal will be made available to workshop attendees for comment. Comments and feedback are welcome at any time in the lead-up to submission.

XPDF WORKSHOP SCHEDULED

Our vision for XPDF is straightforward: to build an instrument that measures X-ray PDF data of the highest quality possible at DLS, servicing the very large number of UK research groups whose work relies on understanding local structure in materials.
